Chantilly filmfest to screen ‘The Reversed Path’

Iranian feature ‘The Reversed Path’ is to be screened at the Iranian Cinema Festival of Chantilly in France.

Iranian feature ‘The Reversed Path’ is slated to be screened at the Iranian Cinema Festival of Chantilly in France.

Directed by Abolfazl Jalili, the film will be displayed at the event following a successful presence at the Shanghai International Film Festival (SIFF) in China.

The 98-minute movie is about a teenager who wants to become a filmmaker but faces many obstacles.

“Emkan is a 17-year-old teenager who has not seen his father for many years and his mother works late at night in a factory. He has a small video camera and he decides to make a film to give a twist to his routine life, however, he is not very proficient. He tries his best to achieve his goal…,” a synopsis for the film reads.

The cast list of ‘The Reversed Path’ includes Mahdiyar Asghari, Masoud Naji, and Pouyan Shokri.

The first edition of the Iranian Cinema Festival of Chantilly was initially scheduled for March, but was postponed to November due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The festival offers a platform for talented Iranian directors to introduce their works to the world arena.

The Iranian Cinema Festival of Chantilly is organized by the Franco-Iranian Center in collaboration with the municipalities of Chantilly and Senlis as well as several Iranian art institutions and film production companies.

The upcoming edition of the event will take place on November 4-7, 2021.
